Job Title Architectural Designer Reports to Project Manager / Principal Job Description Professional degree in Architecture, plus three to five years of related experience. Fully competent in all conventional aspects of architecture. Independently performs a variety of assignments requiring skills in all conventional aspects of architectural designs for projects of moderate size and complexity. Performs analyses of design, planning and occupancy studies, and limited design layouts. Prepares construction documents, compiling and analyzing relevant data. Writes reports and specifications. Reviews completed reports, plans, estimate, and calculations. Duties and Responsibilities Prepare detailed working drawings for the construction of new construction and for the restoration and repairs of existing historic structures. Prepare architectural drawings; layout and draw floor plans, elevations, and sections; prepare detail drawings of structures and make drawings of furniture, equipment, and casework in buildings. Perform field investigations; measure and correct necessary data for building designs and alterations under specific direction. Review contract architect and engineer plans and specifications to verify compliance Florida Building Code. Conduct site surveys and prepare drawings for site development. Confer with personnel and assist in design and schematic drawings. Perform construction administration duties, field inspections during construction, and prepare field reports. Maintain and update construction drawings and specifications. Perform related duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Produce construction-ready documents for contractors and permitting agencies. Knowledge of the Florida Building Code. Contribute to office libraries / AutoCAD and Revit standards and suggest changes to workflows. Prepare specifications and drawings using AutoCAD and Revit. Outstanding communication verbal and written skills. Maintain accurate records. Meet project schedules and deadlines. Must be a U.S Citizen and local to the Greater Miami area. Must be fluent in both written and spoken English; Spanish is a plus. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of architectural and engineering nomenclature, symbols, customs, and practices. Knowledge of governmental organization, permitting operations, policies and objectives. Prepare and present reports. Education and Experience Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Architecture, Historic Preservation, or a related discipline. Historic Preservation experience is a plus. 3-5 + years’ experience in AutoCAD and Revit. 3-5 + years’ experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Project. Problem solving skills, attention to detail, and motivation to learn. Outstanding communication verbal and written skills. Candidate must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
