Land Acquisition Manager
Ambrosia Energy
Ambrosia Energy is on a mission to make solar + battery systems the fastest-to-deploy and most cost-effective energy source in the US and beyond. As global energy demand surges—driven by the rapid rise of data centers, electric vehicles, and future in-home robotics—the world stands at a critical energy inflection point. To meet this challenge, we need innovative, scalable power sources. Our engineering-led team, with expertise in designing and deploying satellite constellations (Swarm, Starlink Mobile), is now focused on energy on Earth. We're developing affordable, clean energy solutions with new battery storage systems. United by strong team camaraderie, we prioritize speed, rapid iteration, vertical integration, and a test-like-you-fly approach. We're committed to making an impact on the future of energy. Role As the Land Acquisition Manager, you will be our primary person searching for new land and owning the critical first step of our deployment pipeline. You will be responsible for identifying high-potential real estate, securing site control, and spearheading the initial permitting and zoning processes. This is a high-autonomy, high-impact role requiring a rare blend of data-driven spatial analysis, relentless deal-making, and regulatory navigation. You will hunt for optimal acreage, build trust with landowners, and clear the path for our construction teams to deploy infrastructure at record speed. Responsibilities Utilize GIS software and proprietary spatial data tools to identify, screen, and rank optimal land parcels across target regions based on terrain, acreage, and zoning. Build and manage a rigorous, high-volume pipeline of real estate leads, proactively contacting landowners via cold calls, direct mail, and in-person visits to pitch Ambrosia Energy's off-grid energy vision. Negotiate, structure, and secure favorable land purchase options and long-term lease agreements with private landowners and corporate entities. Lead local permitting and zoning efforts, representing Ambrosia Energy at county commissioner, planning commission, and city council meetings to secure conditional use permits (CUPs) and zoning variances. Act as the primary point of contact for local communities, fostering positive relationships and managing public outreach to ensure smooth project approval. Coordinate cross-functionally with engineering and construction teams to verify site feasibility, access constraints, and environmental compliance before closing transactions. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in real estate, finance, business, environmental science, geography, or a related field. Degree requirement waived with demonstration of high prior success. 3+ years of professional experience in utility-scale renewable energy land acquisition, real estate development, or commercial site selection. Advanced proficiency with GIS mapping tools (e.g., ArcGIS, Google Earth Pro) and public land record databases. Proven track record of independently negotiating multi-million dollar land transactions and managing complex contract cycles from sourcing to close. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrable ability to build rapid rapport with rural landowners, corporate executives, and local government officials alike. Extreme attention to detail, high self-motivation, and a relentless "sales" drive to aggressively advance land deals through the pipeline. Preferred Skills or Experience Prior experience working as a Certified Professional Landman (CPL) or Registered Landman (RL) with deep expertise in Texas real estate legalities. Strong background in title research, including the ability to run title chains, identify ownership clouds, and successfully navigate complex surface vs. mineral rights issues. Demonstrated success in negotiating and executing utility, access, and right-of-way (ROW) easements for industrial or infrastructure projects. Expert-level understanding of title insurance policies, ALTA surveys, and closing documentation to independently resolve diligence hurdles. Prior experience in a fast-paced, vertically-integrated startup culture where speed of execution is the primary metric. Note: Up to 50% domestic travel required to perform site assessments, meet with landowners, and attend local regulatory hearings. Must be able to work extended hours and/or weekends as needed to close critical real estate transactions. #J-18808-Ljbffr
