Located on a 27-acre wooded campus, Fairmount Behavioral Health System is a peaceful, therapeutic environment for patients and families. Fairmount is a major regional resource for children, adolescents and adults who have psychiatric and behavioral problems as well as alcohol and drug dependency needs. We are currently seeking an evening, Fulltime Creative Arts Therapist to join our team. Creative Arts Therapist is responsible for assessing patients' leisure and recreational activities, providing age and developmentally appropriate therapy groups using a combination of activities, creative arts modalities, and talk therapy, helping patients develop safety/crisis plans, and establishing behavioral treatment goals in a manner consistent with the philosophy and objectives of Fairmount Behavioral Health System.

To perform the Creative Arts Therapist position successfully, an individual must be able to demonstrate competency in the criteria listed in this job description. The specifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability to meet the minimum requirements for this position. Staff must demonstrate flexibility for reassignment to units providing care to varied populations including children, adolescents, and adults.

Education: Master's degree in Counseling and/or related field with specialization in a creative arts/allied therapy modality (i.e. art, music, movement, recreation, occupational therapy)

Experience: One (1) year prior experience in Behavioral health field working with people in recovery from mental health disorders preferred

Licensure/Certification: PA professional license preferred but not required. Possesses current registration, certification, or licensure in accordance with state and/or national board standards of specific field of a creative arts/allied therapy/counseling preferred (i.e. art, music, movement, recreation, occupational therapy)
