Directs the activities of paraprofessional as they provide care. Responsible for assuring effective communication with patients, support persons and members of the healthcare team. Responsible for implementing nursing care of assigned patients via the Nursing Process including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation. Acts in compliance with hospital, Nursing Department policies/procedures and the Nurse Practice Act of the State of Ohio. Admits and discharges patients. Provides pre-procedure teaching and assures physician orders are done prior to procedure. Recovers post-procedure patients according to dept policy and accurately follows physician post-procedure orders. Assists in transferring specific patients to other hospitals directly from the holding room. Provides follow-up care by phoning patients next day. Provides nursing support in other areas if needed (CT for biopsies). Keeps patients safe & calm while assisting physicians in cardiac cath/special procedures and related interventional procedures. Functions independently in the lab while using professional judgment in performance of services. Accurately & promptly implements physician's orders. Scrubs, circulates & records all cases done in the lab & helps to recover patients. Acts in compliance with hospital policies/procedures. Provides care to patients in a calm, efficient manner.
