Reinvestment Analyst

Reinvestment Senior Analyst plays a key role in our Asset Management Department, driving portfolio performance through data analysis, financial modeling, and strategic asset planning. Location: Irvine, California – Irvine Regional Office (Derian) What You Will Do Reporting and Data Analysis – support the team by reporting, analyzing, and forecasting property financials; synthesize data to aid in strategic asset planning. Data Visualization and Business Intelligence – develop and maintain Excel models and dashboards, collaborating with end‑users to create visualizations for capital allocation decisions. Financial Modeling and Underwriting – create detailed financial models for capital investments and assist in underwriting projects that generate revenue; prepare routine and special reports for senior management. Cross‑Functional Collaboration – build and maintain effective working relationships with internal departments to ensure the achievement of key objectives. Market Analysis – gather and analyze market data to prepare comprehensive market analyses, maintaining awareness of local markets, competition, supply pipeline, demand drivers, and absorption. What You Will Need Bachelor's degree in real estate, finance, accounting, economics, or a related field. Minimum 2 years’ experience in real estate and financial planning & analysis. Experience in multifamily real estate preferred. Proficiency in creating and analyzing complex pivot tables for data reporting. Experience with automated toolsets (PowerQuery, Excel macros, data modeling) preferred. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. Advanced Excel modeling skills, including financial projections and scenario analysis. Strong financial literacy – ability to analyze income statements, balance sheets, and other financial documents. Detail‑oriented, analytical, and problem‑solving skills. Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills. What The Job Requires Operate in a fast‑paced setting with the ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities. Work primarily in an office setting; extended periods of sitting at a desk are required. In‑person work may be required in line with the hybrid policy at selected Essex corporate offices. Ability to sit or stand for extended periods; minimal physical effort needed. Regular travel to various locations for meetings, projects, and client visits. Additional Skills Excellent written and verbal communication; strong organizational and analytical skills. Ability to present information effectively and provide efficient, reliable service to customers. Intermediate analytical and quantitative skills; ability to solve problems with multiple options. Decisions made with thorough knowledge of procedures and company policies to meet set results and deadlines. Benefits Competitive salary of $94,000.00 – $117,000.00 per year, subject to internal equity and experience. Eligibility for a discretionary annual bonus program.
