About The Role 16‑week Fall 2026 internship (Monday, August 24 – Friday, December 11). Full‑time paid $22 per hour. Interns work Monday‑Friday 8:30 a.m.–5 p.m., and commute to the office three days a week. Candidates must live within commuting distance to Bellevue, WA. Interns receive customized industry and agency training, individualized coaching and feedback, and networking opportunities with peers and agency leadership. They will also develop a sense of belonging through one‑on‑one mentorship and the agency’s employee resource groups. Core responsibilities include supporting work that protects Microsoft’s reputation across sustainability, accessibility, public policy, responsible AI, privacy and security, and community impact. Interns research media trends, support client work, manage reporter inquiries and coverage, and collaborate on media relations, press activities, and content distribution. Responsibilities Understand the significance of strategic communication in achieving clients’ business objectives. Discover strategies for building client relationships and engaging with influencers. Build media relations skills and recognize significant emerging trends for clients. Understand clients’ products, communication plans, and team strategies to help connect with target audiences. Collaborate with the We. team to address client inquiries, manage editorial and analyst requests, develop compelling story concepts, pitch stories to journalists, and strategize for events. Assist in organizing and coordinating press activities, including tours and on‑site visits. Support development and distribution of news across various media platforms. Develop teamwork using Microsoft Teams technology. Report on relevant coverage and share insights into cultural trends. While functions may vary by team, the internship is creative, dynamic, fulfilling, and consistent. Job placement at the agency is not guaranteed after completion. Preferred Qualifications One year of professional experience or prior experience in communications or a related field. Availability 40 hours per week, Monday‑Friday, 8:30 a.m.–5 p.m. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite: Teams, Outlook, SharePoint, and OneDrive. Able to commute to the office three days a week. Demonstrated proficiency in initiative, rich communication, project management, and adaptability in ambiguous, stressful situations. Compensation The base annual salary range for this role, applicable across all U.S. locations, may vary based on business requirements and experience. Salary Range: $22 – $22 USD.
