Responsibilities Researching and writing memoranda, pleadings, and correspondence Assistance in preparation for litigation, including depositions, witness interviews, and discovery Drafting client advice memos and attending meetings where that advice is presented to the client Opportunity to observe attorneys in court, and for Rule 9 law clerks, possibly present in court Qualifications Completed at least one year of law school at an ABA accredited law school and enrolled during the duration of the clerkship Commitment to public service demonstrated by background, talents, attitude, and enthusiasm for public law practice Diverse background in education, previous work experience, law school activities, extracurricular activities, and community service Must be able to work in Washington State for the duration of the clerkship Benefits Competitive salary: $23 per hour for first‑year law clerks, $24 per hour for second‑year law clerks Vacation leave, sick leave, military and civil leave, and paid holidays Health and wellness program Access to training and career development programs recognized for excellence nationwide Enrollment in the Public Employees’ Retirement System, earning one service credit per month of 90 hours or more Application Process Letter of Interest Resume Official or unofficial law school transcript Letter of recommendation (if a 2L, 3L, or LL.M.) – can be sent separately to View email address on click.appcast.io Upon receipt, the application material will be reviewed and approved applications referred to the hiring manager.
