Workers' Compensation Claims Handler - Temp Position
Buffalo, NY | $25.34/hr | Fully Onsite
We are seeking a Workers' Compensation Claims Handler for a temporary onsite opportunity in Buffalo, NY. This role is ideal for candidates with New York workers' compensation experience, strong administrative skills, and a customer-focused approach to claims management.
Responsibilities
- Set up and manage workers' compensation claims in the claims management system
- Review and maintain accurate claim documentation and coding
- Conduct claim investigations, interviews, and 3-point contacts
- Communicate with claimants, employers, medical providers, attorneys, and witnesses
- Prepare investigation summaries and support legal file preparation
- Process medical payments and related claim expenses
- Collaborate with HR, medical teams, and labor groups on return-to-work plans
- Support claims handling activities focused on reducing costs and claim duration
- Assist with complex claims and participate in case management meetings
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- 1-3 years of New York workers' compensation claims experience required
- Strong communication, organization, and multitasking skills
- Ability to analyze information and manage multiple priorities
- Professional customer service and relationship management skills
- Experience working in a fast-paced office or claims environment
