We are seeking a Workers' Compensation Claims Handler for a temporary onsite opportunity in Buffalo, NY. This role is ideal for candidates with New York workers' compensation experience, strong administrative skills, and a customer-focused approach to claims management.

Responsibilities

• Set up and manage workers' compensation claims in the claims management system
• Review and maintain accurate claim documentation and coding
• Conduct claim investigations, interviews, and 3-point contacts
• Communicate with claimants, employers, medical providers, attorneys, and witnesses
• Prepare investigation summaries and support legal file preparation
• Process medical payments and related claim expenses
• Collaborate with HR, medical teams, and labor groups on return-to-work plans
• Support claims handling activities focused on reducing costs and claim duration
• Assist with complex claims and participate in case management meetings

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required
• Bachelor's degree preferred
• 1-3 years of New York workers' compensation claims experience required
• Strong communication, organization, and multitasking skills
• Ability to analyze information and manage multiple priorities
• Professional customer service and relationship management skills
• Experience working in a fast-paced office or claims environment
