Job Summary Provides perioperative nursing care to inpatients undergoing a variety of surgical procedures. Functions as scrub and/or circulating nurse, ensuring a safe surgical environment and coordinating care throughout the pre-, intra-, and post-operative phases. Education & Experience Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (Required) Minimum 1-2 years of operating room nursing experience (Preferred) Licenses & Certifications Current RN license in state of practice (Required) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (Required) CNOR (Certified Perioperative Nurse) certification (Preferred) Key Responsibilities Prepares the operating room, including instruments, supplies, and equipment for scheduled procedures. Functions as scrub or circulating nurse, maintaining sterile technique throughout surgery. Performs surgical counts and ensures accurate documentation of instruments, sponges, and devices. Monitors patient status and anticipates surgeon and anesthesia needs during procedures. Coordinates with pre-op and PACU staff to ensure safe patient handoff and continuity of care.
