Staff Accountant

Responsibilities Kforce has a client that is seeking a Staff Accountant in Bowie, MD. Duties include: Assist with the preparation of monthly financial statements and supporting reports Perform daily cash processing and reconciliation activities Support month‑end close, including journal entries and account reconciliations Analyze budget‑to‑actual variances and investigate discrepancies Review and improve accounting processes and internal controls; document procedures as needed Provide support on expense‑related inquiries and accounting issues Assist with external audits and prepare required audit schedules Complete ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as requested Support tax preparation by gathering required documentation and assisting with filings Maintain fixed asset records and support related accounting activities Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field 1+ years of accounting or finance experience Strong communication skills (written and verbal) Detail‑oriented with strong analytical and problem‑solving skills Ability to collaborate effectively across teams The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law.
