Loan Documentation Specialist

Job Description

The Loan Documentation Specialist is responsible for coordinating the preparation, review, and completion of loan and lease documentation packages in compliance with internal policies, regulatory guidelines, investor standards, and state-specific requirements. This role operates in a structured, on-site, paper-based environment and supports time-sensitive processes, including the release of loan collateral upon payoff and management of vehicle titles across all 50 states. The position requires regular interaction with internal teams, customers, and external partners such as DMVs, dealerships, brokers, and title companies to resolve inquiries and obtain necessary documentation. Working within service level agreements and legal timelines, the role demands strong attention to detail, organization, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a high-volume, deadline-driven setting, while supporting closing and funding activities as applicable.

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Typically two to four years of relevant experience

Preferred Skills/Experience

  • Basic knowledge of legal documents supporting loan or lease processing

  • Basic understanding of closing and funding procedures, underwriting requirements, credit policies, and regulatory guidelines

  • Ability to work effectively and accurately in a fast-paced, high-volume, production environment

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to identify, resolve, and escalate complex issues with minimal guidance

  • Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills related to documentation and processing

  • Ability to learn and navigate documentation systems and automated processing tools

  • Demonstrated initiative as a self-starter with the ability to manage workload independently and seek additional work when available

  • Willingness to learn, apply feedback, and adapt to structured processes and evolving procedures

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $20.00 - $22.50
