Job Title Office Associate - Typing Option 2 Agency and Location Department of Children and Family Services – Sangamon County, Illinois Salary Anticipated starting salary $4,144 per month; full range $4,144 – $5,249 per month. Position Overview The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services is seeking an organized, professional, and energetic individual to serve as a Background Check Associate. Under direction, this position will receive and review incoming criminal history and Child Abuse and Neglect Tracking System (CANTS) clearances and apply agency policy and procedures to independently provide information and/or recommendations for resolution. The position will perform data entry of background information into the appropriate departmental system and serve as liaison to requesting parties. Performs data entry of CANTS, Sex Offender Registry System (SORS), National Sex Offender Registry System (NSORS), Out‑of‑State CANTS, Interstate Criminal History, Illinois State Police, Federal Bureau of Investigation, and/or driver eligibility status for facility drivers into the appropriate departmental system. Prepares, keyboards, and maintains complex, highly specialized BCU reports and reports related to application and recommendation materials processed through Central Office. Serves as liaison to requesting parties regarding information on Authorization for Background Check. Serves as Central Office of Licensing contact for all issues concerning facility driver checks. Receives, sorts, reviews, and distributes incoming mail. Performs other duties as required or assigned within the scope of the duties enumerated above. Minimum Qualifications High school graduation or equivalent. Two (2) years of office experience.
