The Project Manager III will coordinate multidisciplinary project teams, manage project plans and resources, support business development, and serve as a technical leader within their practice. The ideal candidate is an accomplished project manager and communicator who can guide intermediate-complexity projects, balance competing priorities, and identify opportunities to strengthen client relationships and grow the practice.
Primary Responsibilities
- Represent the company professionally and maintain positive relationships with clients, contractors, subconsultants, and the public.
- Confirm project expectations with clients and maintain communication with clients, project teams, and subconsultants throughout project delivery.
- Prepare scope and fee proposals, project understanding and approach narratives, and other technical proposal materials for new opportunities.
- Identify opportunities with existing and prospective clients and support business development activities, including lead identification, pursuit planning, proposal development, networking, conferences, client meetings, webinars, and trade shows.
- Maintain client satisfaction through responsive service and follow-up after project completion.
- Assemble and coordinate the work of professional staff, engineers, and consultants to achieve quality-control objectives and deliver documents in accordance with project schedules, construction cost budgets, internal budgets, and the Project Management Plan.
- Develop and maintain project plans and budgets in the company ERP system and coordinate resources throughout the project lifecycle.
- Use the company resource-planning system to establish schedules, deadlines, and personnel assignments.
- Serve as technical lead for assigned tasks and maintain the technical quality standards established by the company.
- Manage approximately $500,000 to $1,000,000 in annual net revenue.
- Review and approve project expenses and client invoices, monitor financial performance, and oversee timely accounts receivable collection.
- Participate in budgeting, scheduling, manpower projections, and workload-balancing efforts to support utilization targets.
- Manage assignments efficiently within established schedules and budgets and achieve applicable financial goals, including net revenue, contribution margin, and direct labor expectations.
- Recommend development opportunities for project team members, identify emerging skills needed to support clients, and participate in assigned professional development and professional activities.
- Maintain required continuing education and licensure, follow company policies and procedures, and perform other duties as assigned.
What Success Looks Like
Success in this role means consistently delivering high-quality projects on time and within budget while maintaining strong client satisfaction, technical quality, and financial performance. The Project Manager III will keep clients, team members, and subconsultants informed; coordinate resources effectively; and proactively address project risks, schedules, budgets, scope, and quality requirements.
The successful Project Manager III will manage an annual net revenue portfolio of approximately $500,000 to $1,000,000, support timely invoicing and collections, identify opportunities for new and expanded client work, and strengthen the capabilities of project team members. They will demonstrate professional judgment, accountability, technical leadership, and a commitment to the continued growth of clients, employees, and the practice.
