Accounting Supervisor

We are looking for an Accounting Supervisor to join our Finance team. The role is responsible for supervising day-to-day accounting operations across the Procure-to-Pay cycle, ensuring timely and accurate invoice processing, supplier reconciliations, cash desk and treasury-related accounting support, payment execution and closing activities. It also plays a key role in guiding the team, maintaining compliance with internal procedures and control standards, and driving continuous improvement in a transforming finance environment. Key Responsibilities: Lead, mentor and develop the accounting team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement. Supervise daily accounting operations across the Procure-to-Pay cycle, ensuring timely and accurate processing, posting and follow-up of invoices and open items. Oversee supplier reconciliations and ensure the timely resolution of outstanding balances. Oversee cash desk and treasury-related accounting activities, including payment preparation, bank transactions, cash monitoring and relevant reconciliations. Ensure the smooth execution of payment cycles in alignment with internal procedures, approval flows and bank cut-off times. Support month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing activities through reconciliations, analyses and accurate documentation. Prepare accounting reports and supporting documentation required for internal reporting, external audit and statutory/tax purposes. Ensure compliance with internal policies, accounting procedures, tax requirements and internal control standards. Cooperate closely with Finance, Procurement, Treasury, Commercial and Supply Chain teams to resolve accounting-related issues. Drive continuous improvement and digitalization initiatives through data-driven insights, with focus on efficiency, accuracy and stronger controls. Support the implementation and effective use of systems and automation tools, including SAP and invoice workflow platforms. Represent the Procure-to-Pay function in cross-functional projects and transformation initiatives. Requirements: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field. Relevant accounting experience of 4-7 years, preferably within a corporate, multinational, FMCG, manufacturing or industrial environment. Prior experience in a supervisory or team coordination role will be considered a strong advantage. Strong knowledge of Greek GAAP and IFRS. Good understanding of Procure-to-Pay processes, supplier reconciliations, payment cycles and month-end closing activities. Hands-on experience with ERP systems; SAP / SAP S/4HANA knowledge will be considered an asset. Very good knowledge of MS Excel and digital reporting tools, including MyDATA / e-books. Professional certification such as CPA, ACCA or ACA will be considered a strong advantage. Good command of the English language, both written and verbal. Proactive, hands-on approach with a can-do mentality. Strong attention to detail, consistency and accountability. Strong analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and follow up effectively.
