Senior Accountant - Alternative Finance & Partnership Accounting

Financialese is a fractional CFO and outsourced accounting firm built for complex businesses - fund managers, MCA lenders, real estate developers, and alternative investment vehicles that need a senior financial partner, not a vendor. We’re expanding our alternative finance practice and bringing on a Senior Accountant to own our most technically demanding client work. This is a role with real autonomy, a sophisticated client base, and a direct line to firm leadership. Role You’ll own the accounting and financial reporting function for a portfolio of clients across our private credit, MCA, and real estate verticals. These are not standard SMBs - they are fund managers, alternative lenders, and real estate partnerships that expect institutional-quality output and a counterpart who understands their structures. This is a multi-client role. You’ll move between private credit funds, MCA portfolios, and real estate partnerships - each with its own structure, reporting cadence, and investor audience. What You’ll Own Full month-end close, across multiple client entities Partnership accounting: capital accounts, allocations, carried interest concepts, K-1 support Private credit and alternative lending reporting: investor statements, portfolio-level analytics, cash flow tracking Real estate partnership accounting: draw management coordination, budget-to-actual, fund reporting Financial statement preparation and review across fund, lending, and operating entity structures Senior client relationships NYC client visits periodically What We’re Looking For 5–8+ years of accounting experience with full-cycle close ownership Partnership accounting experience: capital accounts, allocations, multi-partner structures Exposure to alternative finance structures: private credit funds, real estate partnerships, alternative lending vehicles, or similar Multi-client background: having managed more than one client simultaneously Strong client communication The Background We’re Looking For We care about what you’ve worked on, not where you worked.
