Our engineering apprenticeship is a four‑year program combining theory training with our RTO partners, in‑house training courses, and practical on‑the‑job training in our Engineering businesses. You’ll rotate through relevant business areas applicable to the relevant trade, receiving hands‑on training on Qantas Group and customer aircraft. Apply today for one of the following trades: Mechanical Depending on your chosen trade, typically your role will include: Mechanical Apprentice – maintains, inspects and undertakes fault diagnosis of airframe, engine systems and mechanical components and accessories on aircraft. These include undercarriage, wheels and brakes, pressurisation, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, flight control systems, engine control systems and pressurisation and environmental control systems. Avionics Apprentice – maintains, inspects and undertakes fault diagnostics of electrical, instrument and radio systems and accessories on the aircraft. These include power generation and distribution systems, ignition and engine monitoring systems, autopilot and integrated flight systems, environmental control systems, radar and communication systems and in‑flight entertainment. You’ll have – A demonstrated mechanical aptitude with an eagerness to learn a hands‑on trade A proactive attitude toward learning and applying safe work practices A high level of motivation and passion to want to be part of the aviation sector Exceptional teamwork Excellent communication skills both verbal and written Good hand skills with the ability to use a variety of tooling Must hold a valid drivers licence Australian Citizenship or hold Australian Permanent Residency Status Ability to work all shift patterns Must be available to start work from early 2027 Why the Qantas Group?
