This role focuses on operating production equipment to fill and seal containers of ink used across various industries, while also supporting shipping and receiving activities as needed. You will work in a small, hands-on warehouse and production environment where you follow written and verbal instructions to complete tasks accurately, safely, and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Operate production machinery to fill containers with ink according to established specifications and quality standards.

• Seal, label, and prepare filled containers for packaging and shipment.

• Assist the shipping and receiving department by loading, unloading, and organizing incoming and outgoing materials.

• Inspect containers, packaging, and finished products for accuracy, quality, and proper labeling.

• Handle and mix ink-related substances such as solvents, resins, alcohol, lubricants, dyes, and similar materials in a safe and controlled manner.

• Follow written and verbal instructions to complete daily production tasks and prioritize work effectively.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in both production and warehouse spaces.

• Use general office equipment such as telephones, copiers, fax machines, and computers to support documentation and communication needs.

• Manage multiple tasks simultaneously while meeting deadlines and production goals.

• Collaborate with a small team to ensure smooth workflow and support coworkers as needed.

• Adhere to all safety procedures, including the use of required personal protective equipment and proper handling of materials.

• Report any equipment issues, material shortages, or quality concerns to the appropriate personnel promptly.

Essential Skills

• At least 2 years of manufacturing or warehouse experience.

• Ability to lift up to 45 pounds on a regular basis.

• Comfort working with ink-related substances, including solvents, resins, alcohol, lubricants, dyes, and similar materials.

• Ability to work independently while following written and verbal instructions accurately.

• Capability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.

• Proficiency in operating general office equipment such as telephones, copiers, fax machines, and computers.

• Strong attention to detail for inspection, packaging, and labeling tasks.

• Reliability and consistency in attendance and meeting production expectations.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous experience in general production, warehouse operations, or general labor roles.

• Experience with machine operation, packaging, and product inspection.

• Comfort working in a small, team-oriented environment where everyone contributes to shared goals.

• Willingness to learn specific processes related to ink manufacturing and packaging.

• Strong communication skills to work effectively with supervisors and coworkers.

Work Environment

This position is based in a small warehouse and production facility where you will typically work alongside 5 to 10 colleagues at a time. The environment involves regular exposure to ink, and it is expected that some ink may get on your hands and clothing. A uniform is provided, and steel-toed shoes are required for safety. The facility does not have air conditioning, so it can become hot and humid in the summer, although fans and an air exchanger help circulate air, and it can feel cooler in the winter despite climate control measures. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with some overtime available but not currently mandatory. When particularly hot and humid conditions are anticipated, the team may adjust schedules by starting an hour earlier and finishing an hour earlier to avoid the hottest part of the day. The overall atmosphere is very laid back and team-oriented, with an expectation that everyone contributes and pulls their weight.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Spring Lake Park, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
