About the Opportunity

Pan Atlantic Foundation is looking for a motivated and dependable Area Representative in the Naperville, Illinois area to help grow and support our international student exchange program.

Area Representatives are an important part of the exchange experience. They help identify welcoming American families, develop relationships with local schools, support international students, and provide a local point of contact throughout the exchange year.

This is a flexible, part-time independent contractor position that allows you to work within your community while maintaining your existing schedule.

Your Role in the Community

As an Area Representative, you will help create the local support network that allows an international student to successfully experience an American school and community.

Your responsibilities may include:

Build Host Family Relationships

• Introduce local families to the opportunity to host an international exchange student.
• Answer questions and provide information about the hosting experience.
• Interview prospective host families and assist with the qualification process.
• Maintain ongoing communication with participating families.

Develop School & Community Connections

• Reach out to local high schools regarding international student exchange opportunities.
• Establish professional relationships with school personnel.
• Identify potential placement opportunities for exchange students.
• Introduce the program to appropriate community organizations and groups.
• Encourage students to participate in school activities and community life.

Support Exchange Students

• Help welcome students into their new community.
• Maintain regular contact with students throughout their exchange.
• Conduct required monthly supervision and check-ins.
• Help students navigate everyday questions or challenges.
• Encourage positive relationships between students, host families, schools, and the community.
• Communicate concerns or significant issues to Pan Atlantic Foundation staff.

Stay Connected With the Program

• Complete required training and documentation.
• Maintain timely communication with Pan Atlantic Foundation.
• Participate in occasional student or community activities.
• Keep accurate records of required contacts and follow-up.

The Right Person for This Position

You don't need a background in international exchange to succeed in this role.

Flexible Work That Fits Your Life

This position is designed to complement your existing schedule.

There is no traditional 8-to-5 schedule. Your activities will vary throughout the year based on student placements, school schedules, host family needs, and community outreach opportunities.

Some responsibilities can be completed from home, while others involve meeting with families, schools, students, or community contacts in person.

Compensation

$1,000 per successful student placement

This position is a 1099 independent contractor opportunity . Compensation is based on successful placements and does not include an hourly wage or salaried base.

In addition to placement compensation, Area Representatives may have opportunities to earn international travel experiences through their work with Pan Atlantic Foundation.

Serving Champaign & Surrounding Communities

The primary service area is Naperville, Illinois , with outreach and student support extending into surrounding communities as appropriate. Aurora, Joliet, Plainfield, Downers Grove, Wheaton, Elmhurst

Candidates who live in Naperville or have connections throughout the surrounding area are encouraged to apply.

Connections with local schools, families, youth organizations, community groups, businesses, or civic organizations can be especially valuable.

You don't need an extensive network to get started. We are looking for someone who is willing to build relationships and become a familiar, trusted presence in the community.
