Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
Join a dynamic outpatient clinic committed to providing exceptional patient care. We are seeking an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse with a minimum of 1.5 years of nursing experience, including at least 1 year of current oncology experience.
Patient Types
Adults (18+ years old), Medical Oncology/Chemotherapy Infusion, Hematology, Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) - Pre-Transplant and Post-Transplant
Visits Per Day
Expect to see approximately 15-25 patients daily, providing crucial cancer support services.
Required Certifications
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Certification, Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
Required Education
Completion of a nursing education program approved by a Board of Nursing.
Skills Required
Proficient in EPIC Ambulatory, Experience assisting and chaperoning providers during exams and procedures, Clinic experience is essential, including:
- Rooming patients, including taking vital signs, reviewing systems, and medication reconciliation
- Processing patients for infusions and communicating clearance
- Chart checks and set up for procedures
- Reviewing referrals
Support On The Unit
You will have access to department leadership, clinical assistants, charge nurses, team leads, and onsite lab services. Chemo nurses will handle port access and blood draws.
Charting System/Equipment
Experience with EPIC Ambulatory is required. You may have opportunities to collaborate with different physicians within Medical Oncology and, occasionally, with those from other specialties.
Orientation
Expect a departmental orientation lasting approximately 5 days, subject to changes based on your individual skill set and comfort level.
Scheduling
The typical shift runs from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, with days off scheduled based on clinic needs. No weekends or major holidays are required, but work on minor holidays may be necessary. Up to 7 days of time off may be approved, provided that you are willing to extend your contract accordingly.
