CONSTRUCTION COST ESTIMATOR | GANA-A'YOO SUPPORT SERVICES Type of Position: Full-Time, Regular Tier: I Location: Charleston, SC Schedule: TBD FLSA Classification: Exempt Reports to: General Manager

JOB OVERVIEW

The Construction Cost Estimator is responsible for various financial functions such as costing, estimating, budgeting, auditing, forecasting, and analysis. This position will focus on estimating costs for various projects in government contracting to include construction, scientific staffing, administrative staffing, and environmental projects.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

Provide estimating and negotiating support with experience in the development of detailed quantity take‑off and cost estimates for multi‑discipline commercial construction projects. Utilizing the industry‑standard contractor’s Automated Estimating System (AES). Produce subcontractor bid packages, select subcontractors and suppliers based on best value, administering and overseeing subcontractor activities. Coordinate with field personnel to ensure expectations are met. Review subcontractor material, approved submittals and shop drawings and check construction for compliance. Coordinate with clients (primarily Federal Government) to ensure successful completion of projects and client satisfaction. Exercise good judgment in utilizing the necessary authority to properly manage and execute construction contracts. Assure red line (as‑built) drawings are kept up to date in the field. Participate in the company safety program. Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

Four‑year degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering Technology, Building Construction or Building Science preferred, but extensive experience in lieu of degree will be considered. Minimum 5 year’s experience with 4clicks / RS Means estimating software experience. Design/Build experience is a plus. Experience on Federal projects required. Must have experience working with estimating, cost control and scheduling. Working knowledge of field construction including systems, practices, general engineering principals and construction techniques, materials, methods and sequencing. Must be able to multi‑task efficiently, work in a fast‑paced environment on multiple projects, and have a strong attention for detail. Strong work ethic with a passion to fulfill commitments. Sincere obligation to client satisfaction. Ability to pass a background and drug screening.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The majority of your work will be performed in an indoor setting, where you will interact with a wide variety of people with differing functions, personalities, and abilities, located throughout the country.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

SCREEN TIME

Extensive use of computer screens and keyboards is required. The role involves working in various software applications and may require extended periods of screen time.

LIFTING & CARRYING

This position is generally active, requiring routine walking, standing, bending and carrying items weighing up to 50 pounds. Employee must maintain a constant state of mental alertness at all times.

MOBILITY

The employees will need to move around the office to attend meetings, access shared resources, and collaborate with team members.
