A growing hospitality group is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support the financial operations of multiple hotel properties. This is a hybrid role , ideal for someone with hotel or lodging accounting experience who thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and values accuracy, organization, and teamwork. This is a hybrid role , ideal for someone with hotel or lodging accounting experience who thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and values accuracy, organization, and teamwork. Key Responsibilities
- Perform month-end closing procedures, including preparing and reviewing monthly financial statements.
- Prepare account reconciliations, work papers, and supporting schedules.
- Enter and review journal entries in the accounting system.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial reporting for assigned hotel properties.
- Manage administrative tasks for assigned properties, including correspondence, license applications/renewals, and tracking/payment of property taxes.
- Review sales tax and accommodation tax returns for compliance and accuracy.
- Monitor bank account balances and oversee weekly payables and check runs.
- Respond to financial information requests from property leadership and related stakeholders.
- Provide backup support for other accountants as needed.
- Assist with filing, scanning, document retention, and maintaining organized financial records.
- Support departmental projects and additional duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required).
- Hotel or lodging industry accounting experience required.
- Experience with M3 Accounting strongly preferred.
- Experience with QuickBooks preferred.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and foundational accounting principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to multi-task, problem-solve, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain a high level of discretion with confidential information.
- Team-oriented mindset with the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
- Hybrid schedule : Combination of in-office and remote work.
- Must be able to work on-site as needed for meetings, projects, or operational needs.
