Job Description


The Senior Portfolio Operations Analyst is a key member of the portfolio accounting team, responsible for overseeing core accounting and performance functions while driving operational improvements. This role requires a strong background in investment operations, leadership capabilities, and the ability to manage complex processes, mitigate risks, and enhance efficiency. The position involves collaboration across internal teams and external partners to ensure accurate portfolio reporting and effective issue resolution.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and implement improvements across portfolio accounting and performance processes
• Participate in and support the rollout of new products and services through cross-functional project teams
• Manage and escalate issues with custodians and external partners to resolve discrepancies and address root causes
• Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency and reduce risk across core functions such as reconciliations, performance analysis, cash management, and derivatives processing
• Oversee preparation and review of daily and month-end reconciliations, aged items, and management reporting metrics
• Take on leadership responsibilities, including guiding team members and overseeing workflow execution
• Communicate effectively with internal teams, investment professionals, custodians, and relationship managers to resolve issues and maintain strong working relationships

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in investment operations or portfolio accounting
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and time management skills
• Ability to clearly communicate issues, risks, and solutions to various stakeholders
• Demonstrated ability to assess and mitigate risk while making sound decisions
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication abilities
• Proven ability to drive process improvements and operational excellence

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in dynamic, fast-paced environments
• Exposure to mid- and back-office functions such as trade support, performance analysis, portfolio operations, or client servicing
• Familiarity with financial systems such as Advent APX, Bloomberg, CRD, Wall Street Office (WSO), or SS&C Recon
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with tools such as MS Access and Power BI
