• JCL (Job Control Language)
• DB2 (Database development and SQL query optimization)
• CICS (Customer Information Control System - for online transaction processing)
• Experience with VSAM (Virtual Storage Access Method)
• Proficiency in TSO/ISPF, Endevor, File-Aid, and similar mainframe utilities.
• Understanding of mainframe job scheduling tools (e.g., CA-7, Control-M)
• Familiarity with mainframe debugging tools (e.g., IBM Debug Tool, Xpediter)
• Design, develop, test, and implement mainframe-based applications using COBOL, JCL, DB2, and related technologies.
• Analyze business and technical requirements to develop solutions that meet business needs.
• Perform code reviews, unit testing, and debugging to ensure high-quality deliverables.
• Maintain and enhance existing mainframe applications to ensure optimal performance and user satisfaction.
• Collaborate with business analysts, QA teams, and other developers to deliver solutions on time and within scope.
• Monitor batch jobs and resolve issues as they arise in production environments.
• Write and maintain technical documentation and support transition to operations teams
