Commissioning Specialist

Location: Quanah, TX (rotational and local candidates considered)

The Opportunity


We are seeking a Commissioning Specialist to join our team and support the successful delivery of building automation and control system projects. This role focuses on commissioning, testing, and validating systems to ensure they perform to design specifications, safety standards, and client expectations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, hands-on, and skilled in troubleshooting, with strong communication skills to work directly with clients, contractors, and project teams.



What you will do?

• Commission, test, and validate building automation, HVAC, and control systems.

• Troubleshoot sensors, actuators, controllers, and networked systems to ensure proper function.

• Perform system calibrations, tuning, and adjustments for optimal performance.

• Review and interpret wiring diagrams, control schematics, and technical documentation.

• Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and contractors during installation and project turnover.

• Document commissioning results, create test reports, and support project closeout activities.

• Provide technical support, training, and guidance to end-users and clients.

• Ensure compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and industry regulations.

• Support punch list resolution and system optimization during warranty period.

Required Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Controls, or related field (or equivalent experience).

• 2+ years of experience in commissioning, building automation, or controls systems.

• Proficiency with BAS platforms (e.g., Siemens, Johnson Controls, Reliable Controls, Honeywell, or similar).

• Strong understanding of PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and networking for control systems.

• Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals.

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

• Familiarity with industry standards and codes (ASHRAE, NEC, ISA, ISO, etc.).

• Excellent communication and client-facing skills.

• Willingness to travel frequently to project sites.

• LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP)

• Certified Commissioning Professional (CCP) or similar

• OSHA 10/30 Safety Training

• BAS or Controls Manufacturer Certifications (Siemens, Johnson Controls, Honeywell, etc.)
