Experience:

• 24 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.

• 22 months of Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit experience worked in the last 12 months.

• Travel experience is preferred.

• Experience with Epic is required.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Ohio license or compact license (required after submission).

• This role will require floating to multiple units

• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <60 miles from facility will be processed as local.

• 6 months gap required between for Any Contract Type at Program: Aya Program - Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center and no current placement allowed at Program: Aya Program - Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center.

Additional Details:

References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years.

You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing.

Required Skills/Experience: Acute care experience must be current, with consistent work in the last 12 months, and must be in the specialty with which they are applying. Experience with pharmacologic/non-pharmacological pain interventions and equianalgesic dosing of opioids.

Preferred Skills/Experience: Teaching hospital experience is preferred.

Required Credentials: Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program.

Special Requests: Cannot apply to any James Cancer Hospital & Research facilities if you have an active application to any Ohio State University facilities.

Unit Details: Palliative care unit providing symptom management for patients still under treatment, including uncontrolled pain, severe nausea/vomiting, failure to thrive, and fatigue. Supports patients with serious, life-limiting illness, advanced illness, or imminent end of life, with emphasis on comfort, dignity, symptom management, and emotional and psychosocial needs. Adult and geriatric patient population.

Shift & Scheduling: Day shift 07:00 - 19:30 or night shift 19:00 - 07:30. If you accept a 12D/N rotating contract, you may be scheduled for days, nights, or a combination of both, depending on the department’s needs. Shift assignments are reviewed every 4-week scheduling period, but changes are not guaranteed and are based on staffing priorities at that time. Weekend coverage as needed per unit needs.

Floating Requirements: Required to float within units of equivalent or lower level of acuity. May also float to other high acuity med surg units.

All time off requests must be submitted at application. Scheduling requests must be worked out with the manager directly upon starting the assignment. Any offers for this job will require a clear “Yes” or “No” response from the nurse within 24hrs or the offer must be declined.
