Accounting Specialist

Our manufacturing client is seeking an Accounting Specialist to support payroll, AR/AP, and day-to-day accounting functions in the Cookeville, TN area.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process weekly and/or semi-monthly payroll accurately and on time.

• Maintain payroll records and respond to employee payroll inquiries.

• Create customer invoices and apply incoming payments.

• Monitor outstanding balances and assist with collections.

• Reconcile customer accounts and investigate billing discrepancies.

• Prepare account reconciliations and assist with month-end close.

• Maintain accurate financial records and support internal audits.

• Generate reports and ensure data integrity within accounting systems.

• Work closely with HR, Finance, and Operations to resolve payroll and billing issues.

• Perform additional accounting and administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in payroll, AR/AP, or general accounting.

• Experience processing payroll, including payroll taxes, garnishments, benefit deductions, and regulatory compliance.

• Knowledge of general accounting principles and accounts receivable/payable processes.

• Strong Excel skills and accounting & payroll software experience (ADP/SAP/Oracle preferred)

• Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred.

• Must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. Client is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.

Pay Details: $45,000.00 to $65,000.00 per year
