You will be responsible for the designs solutions that support the Organization. As an Engineer, you will work with a diverse work force responsible for the development, design, fabrication, test, and delivery of MGSE. Job responsibilities include:- Independently develop mechanical design solutions of varying complexity using solid models, detailed drawings, and release of engineering work products.- Review requirements from various sources (stress, dynamics, systems, thermal, manufacturing, etc.) to ensure that applicable requirements are flowed into the detailed design of assigned products.- Collaborate with program leadership, domain experts, peers, configuration management, and manufacturing to ensure program requirements and schedules are met.- Contribute to the completion of Program achievements by the release of accurate, error-free, affordable and producible engineering designs.- Supports production meetings and manufacturing and test anomaly / discrepancy resolution- Provides weekly / monthly status and regularly present to peers / leadership. The ideal candidate will have good communications skills (both oral and written) and a strong background in Mechanical Engineering processes. A willingness to travel is required, less than 5%. Applies research to the planning, design, development, and testing of mechanical and/or electromechanical systems, instruments, controls, engines, and/or machines.Long DescriptionBasic QualificationsQualified candidate will have or be able to:- Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 5 years or more of professional experience; or 3 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree. Considered career, or journey, level.- Demonstrated understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals including structures, mechanisms, materials and analysis.- Mechanical design and/or manufacturing experience that includes the use of interpretation of engineering design drawings.- Familiarity with engineering CAD tools (Creo, I-DEAS, etc.) and model based product definition.- Candidate must have the ability to work in an environment with evolving requirements and dynamic schedules. - Candidate must have strong oral, written, and presentation communication skills, and have the ability to interact effectively and build effective relationships with customers.Desired SkillsDesirable candidate will have or be able to:- Experience working with teams on cross-level projects/multidisciplinary product development teams.- Strong interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong internal customer relationships. - Manufacturing and ATLO experience.- Working knowledge of industry standards and federal regulations including ANSI, OSHA, and AWS standards applicable to mechanical and structural systems.
