vJob Summary

Th e Fire Alarm Technician is responsible for installing, wiring, testing, troubleshooting, and upgrading fire alarm and security systems in occupied commercial environments. This role requires strict adherence to applicable codes and safety requirements while ensuring reliable system performance and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

1. In stall fire alarm systems and security devices in commercial environments
2. Perform wiring and device installation according to plans and documentation
3. Conduct system testing to ensure compliance with safety codes and standards
4. Troubleshoot fire alarm panels and resolve technical issues
5. Upgrade fire alarm panels and ensure systems meet current requirements
6. Maintain compliance with all applicable codes and safety regulatio ns

Required Skills and Experience

1. N ICET Level II Fire Alarm certification or ability to obtain within first year of employment
2. Fire alarm installation and panel upgrade experience
3. Ability to read plans and documentation accurately
4. Strong troubleshooting skills for fire alarm systems
5. Valid driver’s license and reliable transporta tion

Preferred Qualifications

1. Additional NICET certifications beyond Level II
2. Experience with security system integration alongside fire alarm systems

Certifications

1. NI CET Level II Fire Alarm certification required (or ability to obtain within one year)
2. Valid driver’s license required
