Senior Medical Science Liaison - Obesity - GA

About the Role Senior Medical Science Liaison – Obesity – GA (Northern Georgia). Act as the primary scientific/clinical resource to Opinion Leaders, Population Health Decision Makers and other healthcare professionals, guiding Amgen’s medical strategy and advancing the obesity pipeline. Responsibilities Engage in peer‑to‑peer interactions with obesity and related‑condition opinion leaders, community healthcare providers, and PHDMs to promote the scientific platform aligned with company goals. Collaborate with clinical investigators and sites to support the obesity clinical pipeline. Communicate scientific and economic data to PHDMs within assigned IDNs and institutions. Connect external and internal stakeholders to amplify Amgen’s reach and improve patient access. Conduct in‑depth scientific exchanges that provide balanced, compliant information to healthcare professionals. Support or lead Amgen‑sponsored research and assist in non‑sponsored investigator coordination. Present field observations and insights to internal teams to inform strategy. Lead or support congress activities and speaker training initiatives. Participate in project teams supporting MSL strategies and tactics. Collaborate with other Amgen field roles to deliver a coordinated One Amgen experience. Mentor junior MSLs as directed by leadership. Complete all administrative responsibilities, including Veeva CRM, expense reports, and compliance modules. Maintain and enhance clinical/scientific acumen and stay current with industry trends. Build and sustain strong relationships with external stakeholders and communicate scientific data effectively. Qualifications Basic: Doctorate degree + 2 years Medical Affairs experience, or Master’s degree + 6 years, or Bachelor’s degree + 8 years. Preferred: Pharm.D., Ph.D., M.D. or D.O. (other doctoral degrees considered). Seven or more years in a medically related field, including at least 1 year focused on clinical practice, research, or medical research. Post‑doctoral training (residencies/fellowships) acceptable. 2+ years in a medical science liaison role within a biotech or pharmaceutical company. Experience in Scientific Affairs or Medical Affairs at a biotech or pharmaceutical company. Cardiometabolic and/or Obesity expertise. Experience with a designated territory.
