Quality Assurance Specialist

The Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for supporting agency quality assurance, compliance, documentation, and contractual performance activities. This position monitors compliance with agency, state, contractual, and other applicable requirements; identifies areas of deficiency or risk; and works collaboratively with leadership and staff to develop strategies that promote accountability, consistency, and continuous improvement in service delivery to ensure that the needs of the children and families served are being effectively met.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be
assigned. Specific regional requirements may be detailed as an attachment to the job description.

1. Conduct routine and targeted file reviews to assess the accuracy, completeness, timeliness, and compliance of required documentation. Prepare and maintain reports summarizing file review findings, trends, deficiencies, and areas of concern as well track the identified follow up activities.
2. Develop and/or assist with the development of training, technical assistance, and individualized support plans when documentation or compliance deficiencies are identified.
3. Review and prepare case files and supporting documentation for internal, contractual, state, lead agency, or other external monitoring activities as identified.
4. Participate in staffings, case consultations, and other meetings as identified based on quality assurance, compliance, case-specific, or programmatic needs.
5. Participate in debriefings and follow-up activities related to reviews completed by the lead agency or other oversight entities, including assisting with identifying trends, deficiencies, corrective actions, and opportunities for improvement.
6. Serve as the agency point of contact for psychotropic medication monitoring and compliance, including monitoring required documentation, consents, assessments, authorizations, reviews, and other applicable requirements.
7. Collaborate with program leadership and direct service staff to promote consistent understanding and implementation of agency policies, procedures, contractual requirements, and documentation standards.
8. Serve as a member of the agency leadership team and participate in leadership discussions related to agency operations, staffing, planning, quality improvement, and organizational needs.
9. Participate in the leadership on-call rotation and fulfill assigned on-call responsibilities in accordance with agency expectations and procedures.

Bachelor's degree in a human service field, Case Management Certification, and at least 2 years of Case Management experience working in the Dependency System. Leadership experience is preferred.
