Job TitleEssential Functions:Lead and mentor a diverse team of technical engineers in support of multiple business areasRecommend tactics and strategies that will directly impact the achievement of overall business or functional resultsForecast Systems Engineering Manpower needs based on Program and Potential demand forecastDetermine hiring needs and conduct searches to onboard needed System EngineersFacilitate effective interaction between project engineers, program management and customers.Support proposal development activities including labor estimation (BOE creation and review) and technical response developmentEstablish training requirements for continued professional development of the team to meet business goalsEstablish and manage department overhead budget and ensure staff has the tools and equipment needed to effectively conduct their rolesCapable of Problem Solving, Team Leadership, Strategic Thinking / Planning, Communication, IPT / Cross Functional Behavior, Accountability, and Critical Thinking.Review program budgets and schedules with SE program teamsPrepare and deliver effective presentations to communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical professionals, including senior level managementRepresent L3H during interactions with military and commercial customersAuthor/review physical architectures incorporating vendor equipment into airborne systems for military and commercial customersEnsure programs translate customer requirements into unique verifiable system level requirementsLead/Review the systems engineering trade study processEvaluate trade studies for accuracy and completenessQualifications:Bachelor's Degree in an appropriate engineering discipline (Electrical, Mechanical, Systems, Software, Physics, etc.) and minimum 12 years of prior relevant experience or Graduate Degree and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience.Preferred Additional Skills:Experience in systems engineering activities is a plus:Analysis of customer requirements, including system and sub-system trade studiesAnalysis of detailed hardware and software specifications for systems, subsystems, and key componentsLeadership - Task or IPT Leader and/or Functional ManagementEntire Program/Engineering Life Cycle Phases and ActivitiesIRAD and Technical Baseline development/managementRequirements ManagementCommunicationsProposal DevelopmentSecret ClearanceSecurity Clearance Required: YesCompensation: Base Salary - USD $190,000 to $220,000
