Global Trade Classification & Country of Origin Specialist (US Remote)

Medtronic seeks a Global Trade Classification & Country of Origin Specialist to serve as a subject matter expert in import compliance. The role involves determining country of origin, assigning tariff classifications, applying rules of origin, and maintaining trade data for medical device importation worldwide.
Responsibilities
- Determine and assign country of origin for products using bills of material, manufacturing processes, and rules of origin
- Research and maintain harmonized tariff schedule classifications with documented rationale
- Evaluate sourcing and manufacturing changes for impact on origin, classification, and compliance
- Prepare origin certifications and maintain trade compliance documentation in ERP systems
- Partner with engineering, sourcing, and manufacturing teams to obtain product information supporting compliance decisions
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree plus 1 year trade compliance experience, or high school diploma plus 4+ years related experience
- Demonstrated experience in country of origin determination, HTS classification, customs brokerage, or import compliance
- Strong analytical thinking with ability to evaluate bills of material and manufacturing processes
- Knowledge of U.S. customs regulations and import compliance requirements
- Experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP, and trade compliance software
- Excellent written communication skills to document compliance decisions
