About the Position of Automotive Mechanic

As leaders in undercar repairs, Automotive Mechanics are trusted to inspect, diagnose, and perform a wide variety of automotive services on customers' vehicles. Responsibilities include performing undercar repairs such as brakes, struts, and shocks; completing state-mandated inspections; changing oil and filters; checking fluids; replacing worn parts; and dismounting, mounting, rotating, and balancing tires.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Be legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Have at least two years of experience and/or training in automotive repair and maintenance, or have a combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
• Possess an extensive personal toolbox for performing undercar repairs.

Preferred qualifications:

• State inspection license(s).
• ASE Certifications in Automotive Maintenance and Light Repair (G1), Suspension and Steering (A4), and Brakes (A5).

Physical Demands

This active role requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, climbing, pulling, and reaching. Mechanics regularly lift and/or move items weighing over 50 pounds and perform repetitive movements consistent with vehicle maintenance and automotive repair.
