Harvest Lab Intern

A reputable Paso Robles winery is seeking a motivated Harvest Lab Intern to join their team for the upcoming harvest season. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain hands-on experience in both the laboratory and production sides of the wine industry while working alongside an experienced winemaking team. Whether you're pursuing a career in enology, viticulture, food science, chemistry, or simply looking to gain valuable winery experience, this role offers exposure to all aspects of the harvest process.

Schedule: Flexible start times between 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM 8-hour shifts with overtime opportunities during peak harvest.

Pay: Starting at $17-19/hour, depending on experience.

Qualifications: Interest in winemaking, enology, viticulture, chemistry, biology, or a related field. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures accurately. Willingness to learn and work in a fast-paced harvest environment. Ability to work early mornings, overtime, and weekends as needed. Previous winery, laboratory, or harvest experience is required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collect juice and wine samples from fermentation tanks and wine vessels using proper sampling techniques.
• Perform routine harvest juice and wine analyses using advanced laboratory equipment and automated instrumentation.
• Accurately record and enter laboratory and production data.
• Assist with grape receiving, crushing, pressing, and fermentation operations.
• Support cellar activities including pump-overs, punch-downs, tank monitoring, and sanitation.
• Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory and winery environment.
