Wolverine Oilfield Technologies
Company Description Wolverine Oilfield Technologies, based in Houston, Texas, is a leading engineering and manufacturing company specializing in advanced MWD (Measurement While Drilling), LWD (Logging While Drilling), and RSS (Rotary Steerable System) technology solutions for the oil and gas industry. Renowned for its cutting‑edge designs and continuous innovation, Wolverine Oilfield Technologies has established itself as a leader in high‑speed data telemetry. The company is dedicated to pushing the boundaries of technological advancements to drive industry performance and reliability. Role Description This full‑time, on‑site role in Houston, TX focuses on the mechanical development, sustainment, and reliability of Wolverine’s commercialized downhole product lines. The Mechanical Engineer will support MWD tools—including mud‑pulse telemetry pulsers, LWD collar assemblies, and rotary steerable system (RSS) technologies—by driving improvements in durability, manufacturability, and field performance. This role involves hands‑on ownership of mechanical components and assemblies across the full product lifecycle, from design and testing to sustaining engineering and integration with third‑party systems. The engineer will work closely with electrical, firmware, and operations teams to ensure Wolverine’s downhole tools meet the high‑shock, high‑temperature, and high‑pressure demands of drilling environments while supporting the continued growth and evolution of Wolverine’s technology portfolio. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline 3-7 years of experience minimum in downhole tool design, sustainment, or field support (MWD/LWD/RSS preferred) Strong understanding of high‑pressure, high‑temperature (HPHT) mechanical design for drilling environments Experience with mechanical assemblies such as mud‑pulse telemetry pulsers, LWD collar components, rotary steerable system (RSS) mechanisms, and ruggedized downhole housings Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling and drafting (SolidWorks preferred) Hands‑on experience with tolerance analysis, material selection, and design for manufacturability in harsh environments Familiarity with vibration, shock, and fatigue considerations for downhole tools Ability to diagnose mechanical failures and drive root‑cause analysis and corrective actions Experience supporting full product lifecycles—from concept and prototyping to testing, production, and field sustainment Strong collaboration skills with electrical, firmware, and operations teams Ability to manage multiple projects and support fast‑paced development cycles A proactive, ownership‑driven mindset with strong problem‑solving abilities #J-18808-Ljbffr Wolverine Oilfield Technologies
