The Lead Accountant plays a critical role in managing the financial operations of the organization by overseeing accounting activities, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and providing accurate monthly financial reporting. This leadership position entails managing a team of accountants and focusing on internal accounting and compliance monitoring using tools like QuickBooks and standard office software.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and review monthly financial reports
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations and financial policies
- Oversee general ledger activities and reconciliations
- Coordinate and support external and internal audits
- Lead and manage a team of accountants
- Monitor regulatory compliance and update processes as needed
- Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in accounting
- Master’s degree in Accounting or related field
- CPA certification
- Proficiency in financial reporting, general ledger, and tax compliance
- Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks and SAP
- Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail
- Effective team leadership and communication skills
