Accounting AssistantLocation: Humble, TXPosition Type: TemporarySchedule: Monday–Friday | Full-TimePay Rate: $27.00/hourPosition Summary: Our client, a growing manufacturing company, is seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to support its accounting and finance team on a temporary basis. This role will assist with daily accounting operations, month-end close activities, account reconciliations, financial reporting, budgeting support, and audit preparation. The ideal candidate has a strong accounting foundation, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist with month-end and year-end closing activities to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.Prepare account reconciliations, including bank reconciliations and intercompany account reconciliations.Record journal entries, accruals, and other accounting adjustments.Maintain fixed asset records, depreciation schedules, and asset tracking documentation.Support month-end cutoff procedures and ensure transactions are accurately recorded in the appropriate accounting periods.Assist with Profit & Loss (P&L) analysis and variance reporting.Financial Reporting & AnalysisCompile financial information and prepare recurring accounting and financial reports.Analyze accounting data to identify discrepancies, trends, and opportunities for process improvements.Assist with budget tracking and financial performance reporting.Generate reports and perform data analysis using Microsoft Excel and the company's ERP system.Support management by providing accurate financial information for operational decision-making.General Accounting SupportAssist with audit preparation by organizing financial documentation and responding to audit requests.Maintain accurate accounting records while ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards.Work closely with finance and operations teams to resolve accounting issues and improve financial processes.Perform additional accounting and administrative duties as assigned.QualificationsAssociate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience in an accounting or finance environment.Manufacturing industry experience is preferred.Strong understanding of general accounting principles and financial reporting.Experience with account reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close activities.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis.Experience working with ERP/accounting software.Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a collaborative team environment.Why Apply?Competitive pay of $27.00/hourMonday–Friday scheduleOpportunity to gain valuable experience in a manufacturing accounting environmentCollaborative team with exposure to a variety of accounting functionsExcellent opportunity to contribute immediately while expanding your accounting experienceIf you have strong accounting skills, enjoy working with financial data, and are looking for your next temporary opportunity, we'd love to hear from you!
