Schedule

This position requires on-call duties, including roughly 3-4 weeknight calls and one 24-hour weekend call in an 8-week period. Weeknight call hours are from 9 PM to 7 AM, and weekend call hours are from 7 AM to 7 AM.

Job Description

The Preoperative / PACU Registered Nurse will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in the preoperative and post-anesthesia care units. This role requires critical thinking and strong assessment skills to manage patients through their surgical journeys.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients' health status before and after surgical procedures.
• Administer medications and monitor patient responses.
• Provide post-anesthesia care and instruction to patients and families.
• Coordinate care with surgical teams and other healthcare professionals.
• Document all aspects of patient care accurately in compliance with policies.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Valid RN license for the state of practice.
• Current certifications, including BLS and ACLS.
• Previous experience in preoperative or PACU settings preferred.
• Completion of a fit test and other health history requirements.
