Housing Stability Specialist - QMHP

Job Summary This role is performed in person at 3300 Manor Road, Austin, Texas, 78723. The Housing Stability Specialist is a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) who works within a multidisciplinary team to help individuals and families achieve housing stability. The position works in partnership with individuals to define and facilitate their desired life outcomes. Housing Stability Specialists deliver therapeutic interventions fostering skills necessary to manage symptoms, obtain and maintain housing, locate and remove barriers to housing, apply for housing and housing programs, and coordinate ongoing rental assistance. Housing Specialists may also facilitate psychosocial rehabilitative skills training groups and/or utilize other evidence‑based interventions or therapeutic modalities, as well as provide service coordination to obtain services related to employment, education, medical care, nutritional assistance, financial assistance, transportation, legal assistance, and resources fulfilling any basic need. Qualified Mental Health Professionals (QMHP) embrace trauma‑sensitive and informed practices, provide Suicide Safe care, and foster a supportive and welcoming environment. QMHPs operate in a dynamic environment, develop extensive knowledge of community resources, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and cultivate a clinical skill set by forging therapeutic relationships with community members and/or stakeholders. Interventions and services can be both office‑ and community‑based and may require the use of a personal automobile. Individuals served may be diagnosed with mental illness, co‑occurring substance use disorders, chronic health conditions, and/or IDD. Staff members in this position are working under the supervision of a clinically licensed professional who provides ongoing evaluation and oversight of all assessments, diagnoses, and treatment. At this level, clinical assignments may be of moderate complexity and are handled with considerable independence; complicated cases receive closer clinical review and supervision. Services provided may include individual, family, and/or group skills training using evidence‑based interventions, crisis assessment, and case management. Work is performed under general supervision with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Regular, predictable attendance is considered an essential requirement for this position. Other duties may be assigned. A flexible work schedule may be required. Education Graduated from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Human/Behavioral/Social Services or a related field. Master’s degree preferred. License Current and valid driver’s license and a clean driving record. Experience LMHA experience preferred. Hours Full‑time. Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM. Salary $24.18 – $25.39 per hour, based on education.
