Housing Stability Specialist - QMHP

Job Summary This role is performed in person at 3300 Manor Road, Austin, Texas, 78723. The Housing Stability Specialist provides on-site support services to Permanent Supportive Housing clients with a history of chronic homelessness and a qualifying mental health diagnosis. The Specialist is a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) who works within a multidisciplinary team to help individuals and families achieve housing stability. The Specialist works in partnership with clients to define and facilitate their desired life outcomes, delivers therapeutic interventions fostering skills necessary to manage symptoms, obtain and maintain housing, locate and remove barriers to housing, apply for housing and housing programs, and coordinate ongoing rental assistance. The Specialist may also facilitate psychosocial rehabilitative skills training groups, utilize evidence‑based interventions or therapeutic modalities, and provide service coordination for employment, education, medical care, nutritional assistance, financial assistance, transportation, legal assistance, and other basic needs. QMHPs embody trauma‑sensitive and informed practices, provide Suicide Safe care, foster a supportive and welcoming environment, develop extensive knowledge of community resources, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and cultivate clinical skills by forging therapeutic relationships with community members and stakeholders. Interventions may be office‑ or community‑based and may require the use of a personal automobile. Clients served may be diagnosed with mental illness, co‑occurring substance use disorders, chronic health conditions, and/or IDD. The Specialist reports to a clinically licensed professional who provides ongoing evaluation and oversight of assessments, diagnoses, and treatment. Clinical assignments are of moderate complexity and are handled with considerable independence, with more complex cases receiving closer review and supervision. Responsibilities Services provided may include individual, family, and/or group skills training using evidence‑based interventions, crisis assessment, and case management. Work is performed under general supervision with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Qualifications Education: Graduated from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Human/Behavioral/Social Services or a related field. Master’s degree preferred. License: Current and valid driver’s license and a clean driving record. Experience: Preferred experience with LMHA. Hours & Salary Full‑time. Workdays Monday – Friday. Workhours 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM. Salary $24.18 – $25.39 per hour, based on education.
