Clinical Nurse Coordinator Research Medical Center, a 585+ bed hospital in Kansas City, MO, is seeking a Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care within a designated unit. The CNC will coordinate all functions within the unit/department during their shift, working collaboratively with the management team to direct, monitor, and evaluate nursing care. The role involves serving as a resource for staff, modeling a commitment to the organization’s vision, mission, and values, and supporting an unparalleled patient experience. Key Responsibilities Assist with admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient throughput and high-quality, patient-centered care. Participate in the ongoing assessment of the quality of patient care services provided in the unit, in collaboration with other members of the management team. Collaborate with subject matter experts and other managers to create an environment of teamwork that supports improved outcomes and service. Support a patient-first philosophy and engage in service recovery when necessary. Support the efforts of the facility to improve engagement by operationalizing current nursing strategies, including employee rounding, hourly rounds, and other initiatives. Provide recommendations related to interviewing, selecting, and training new staff. Recommend and implement courses of action, including training and development, conflict resolution, personnel policy compliance, completion of performance evaluations, and/or disciplinary actions. Assist with staff scheduling and manage all practical aspects of staff labor in accordance with patient care needs and established productivity guidelines. Support proper inventory control and assist with managing supplies and equipment. Required Qualifications Two (2) years of clinical practice in the clinical specialty of the unit. Acute care leadership/management experience required, preferably in a Level I Trauma Center setting. Registered Nurse Diploma. Graduation from an accredited school of nursing required. Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse in the state(s) of practice and/or has an active compact license, in accordance with law and regulation. Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) obtained within 30 days of employment start date. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) obtained within 30 days of employment start date. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred. Activity in professional organizations encouraged. Skills & Competencies Strong clinical skills relevant to the assigned unit (Med‑Surg, Ortho/Trauma, NICU, Oncology). Proficiency in patient assessment and care planning. Excellent leadership and team management abilities. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to problem-solve and make critical decisions in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
