We are seeking motivated individuals who can take initiative, as attitude and eagerness to learn are essential. This position will work in IT Clinical Systems located in Farmington, CT.THIS POSITION HAS A HYBRID SCHEDULE WITH ONE DAY PER WEEK (MONDAY) IN OFFICE WORK REQUIRED. THIS IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE PER MANAGEMENT AND BASED ON THE NEEDS OF THE DEPARTMENT.REQUIRED CREDENTIALS MUST BE UPLOADED AT TIME OF APPLICATION TO QUALIFYSUPERVISION RECEIVED:Works under the limited supervision of an employee of higher grade, IT Director, or team lead for the module.SUPERVISION EXERCISED: Supervises and leads staff and multidisciplinary staff as assigned.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Develops, supervises, implements and maintains information technology and automation services within the pharmacy department including equipment and hardware.Evaluates and tests system changes; supervises the work of assigned staff, conducts performance reviews and coordinates and/or provides staff training.Continuously evaluates and assists in maintaining patient billing system and conducts audits to determine accuracy of charges.Ensure compliance with all institutional and regulatory policies, procedures, safety, and quality assurance.Maintains clinical information integrity of databases and develops and generates standardized and ad hoc reports; ensures compliance with applicable guidelines.Maintains professional growth and knowledge of specialty area and industry trends and interprets, generates, and disseminate information to multi-disciplinary teams.Participates in risk management and performance improvement/quality assurance programs; participates on committees; maintains a current working knowledge of computer systems to support current computer applications and new development activities.Maintain accurate records and documentation.Performs other related duties as assigned.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITY:Knowledge of the principles and practices of pharmacy and pharmacology and their application to the operation of a hospital pharmacy or outpatient facility, long-term care pharmacy, home- infusion pharmacy, specialty pharmacy, and outpatient clinics.Knowledge of relevant Federal and State laws and regulations, including USP 797and USP 800, USP 795.Considerable interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.Independent decision-making, clinical judgement, and in-depth knowledge of pharmacy and therapeutics.Ability to work with technical automated equipment and information systems.Considerable knowledge of record keeping and clinical documentation.EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:GENERAL EXPERIENCEPharm-D or bachelor's degree in pharmacy from an accredited School of Pharmacy.Must possess and maintain license as a Registered Pharmacist in the State of Connecticut.Three years of clinical hospital experience.SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:Epic Beacon certification/accreditation required at the time of hire and maintained while in the position.Demonstrated computer and networking technology experience, or related courseworkPREFERRED:Additional Epic certifications and proficiencies.Familiarity with oncology medication management, anticancer protocols, or relevant clinical research experience.WORKING CONDITIONS:May be required to travel within the state of Connecticut.May be exposed to hazardous materials, infectious/communicable diseases and disagreeable conditions.SCHEDULE: Full time, 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, 30-minute unpaid meal break.Why UConn HealthUConn Health is a vibrant, integrated academic medical center that is entering an era of unprecedented growth in all three areas of its mission: academics, research, and clinical care.
