What To Expect
Tesla is seeking a Sr. Program Manager to support Director of Industrial Development (Architecture), Workplace Design (Interior Architecture & Design), and Workplace Operations. This role will be responsible for driving operational coordination, and program execution across Tesla's industrial, workplace, and service portfolio, partnering with functional (Industrial Dev, Design, and Workplace Services) leaders and cross-functional teams to translate evolving space, program, service, and infrastructure needs into actionable plans. The Sr. Program Manager will maintain a holistic view of the portfolio, from early site and building pre-development through interior design delivery and into ongoing day-to-day workplace services including office operations, transportation, culinary, janitorial, and mail. Responsibilities span workflow modeling, demand and capacity planning, project and service intake and prioritization, headcount and forecasting, project tracking, and cross-functional execution. This role also serves as the operational backbone for a large, distributed organization managing resourcing, staffing plans, workload balancing, and program cadence across multiple design, development, and workplace services teams. It is a central point of coordination between Workplace Services, Real Estate, Design (Arch + Interiors), and partner teams to ensure requirements, priorities, resources, and dependencies are understood and aligned. The ideal candidate is highly organized, analytical, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment. Success in this role requires the ability to manage multiple priorities, build structure around evolving business needs, balance long-horizon capital planning against daily operational demands, influence senior stakeholders without direct authority, and proactively identify risks and opportunities across the portfolio. What You'll Do Own planning and program management activities across multiple teams and leaders inclusive of Industrial Predevelopment (Architecture), Workplace Design (Interior Architecture), and Workplace Operations & Services, supporting visibility across current and future demand, active projects, ongoing services, and longer-term requirements Program manage critical activities with existing leaders to build efficiencies for day-to-day operations, driving coverage models, escalation paths, and continuous improvement Manage org-level operating rhythm, resourcing and staffing plans, workload balancing across design, predevelopment, and operations teams, onboarding, tooling, and standard workflows Maintain portfolio-level tracking across schedules, milestones, budgets, approvals, entitlements, dependencies, risks, service performance, and overall program health Coordinate with Real Estate, Design Management, Construction Management, Facilities, EHS, Security, Finance, and other cross-functional partners; facilitate portfolio and operations reviews and triage meetings to resolve blockers and drive decisions Develop dashboards, reports, and leadership updates that provide clear visibility into demand, capacity, resourcing, project status, service performance, risks, budget, and upcoming decisions Establish and mature program management standards, templates, workflows, SOP’s, and governance across the organization What You'll Bring Degree in Business, Engineering, Economics, Architecture, Construction Management, Operations, or a related field, or equivalent experience 5+ years of experience in program management, portfolio planning, real estate development, workplace or facilities operations, infrastructure, construction, or a related field Experience supporting a large, multi-team design, engineering, or operations organization, including resourcing and capacity planning; experience managing both capital projects and ongoing operational or vendor-delivered services Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive alignment across organizations without direct authority Familiarity with workplace service delivery models (office operations, transportation, culinary, janitorial, mail) and vendor/SLA management; predevelopment, site selection, entitlements, or building program development is a plus Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize complex data into actionable insights; excellent stakeholder management and communication across business, engineering, finance, procurement, design, construction, facilities, and vendor teams Ability to identify risks, drive decisions, and move programs forward with limited direction in an ambiguous, fast-paced environment; proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, and project/program management tools Benefits
