Role Description The Certified Asbestos Consultant is a full‑time, hybrid role based in Southern CA, with some work‑from‑home flexibility. This role involves performing asbestos surveys and inspections in commercial, industrial, and residential facilities, including bulk sampling, exposure assessments, and regulatory compliance evaluations. The consultant will prepare technical reports, abatement specifications, and management plans, ensuring alignment with local, state, and federal regulations. Daily tasks include coordinating with project managers and clients, reviewing contractor submittals, and conducting site visits to monitor asbestos abatement activities. The role also requires maintaining detailed project documentation, supporting proposal development, and contributing to health and safety programs within the firm. Qualifications Valid California Certified Asbestos Consultant (CAC) and Lead Inspector certifications including thorough knowledge of applicable regulations (e.g., Cal/OSHA, EPA, and local air district rules). Experience in asbestos inspections, surveys, bulk sampling, and preparation of technical reports and abatement specifications. Background in environmental consulting, industrial hygiene, or related fields, with familiarity in hazardous building materials and remediation practices. Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and technical writing skills, with the ability to interpret laboratory data and regulatory requirements. Effective communication and client‑facing skills, including the ability to work collaboratively with engineers, scientists, contractors, and agency representatives. Proficiency with standard office software and data‑management tools; experience with field data collection systems is a plus. Ability to work safely in field environments, including use of personal protective equipment, and meet physical requirements such as standing, walking, and occasional lifting. Associate or bachelor’s degree in environmental science, occupational health, engineering, geology, or a related discipline preferred.
