Job DescriptionCommercial Coordinator plays a pivotal role in managing contractual agreements, overseeing contract administration processes, facilitating communication and collaboration among project stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. By effectively managing contracts and related activities, Commercial Coordinator contributes to the successful execution and delivery of the project within established parameters and objectives.Oversee and manage all contractual agreements between the project owner, stakeholders, and various contractors involved in the project.Identify, assess, and mitigate contractual risks, including potential liabilities, obligations, and exposures that may impact project outcomes.Supervise and carry out the administration of contracts throughout the project lifecycle, including monitoring contract performance, tracking milestones, and managing deliverables.Coordinate with project teams to ensure timely execution of contractual obligations and adherence to project schedules.Ensure that contracts are accurately drafted, reviewed, and executed in accordance with project requirements and legal standards.Ensure compliance with contractual terms, legal requirements, and regulatory standards applicable to the construction industry. Maintain a comprehensive database of contracts including key terms, expiration dates and renewal options.Prepare, review, and issue formal correspondence, including notices, requests, and responses, to stakeholders, contractors, and clients in compliance with contract requirements, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and alignment with project objectives and timelines.Process and manage change orders, variations, and amendments to existing contracts as necessary.Review proposed changes, assess their impact on project scope, schedule, and budget, and negotiate terms and conditions with relevant parties.Handle contract-related claims, disputes, and conflicts that may arise during the project lifecycle.Work closely with legal counsel, project managers, and stakeholders to resolve disputes in a timely and amicable manner, minimizing disruption to project progress.Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of all contractual documents, correspondence, and communications related to the project.Organize contract files, amendments, and other documentation in a structured manner for easy retrieval and reference.Serve as the primary point of contact for contractual matters, liaising between project stakeholders, contractors, and legal advisors as needed.Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment on contract terms and project objectives.Implement best practices, standard operating procedures, and tools to enhance efficiency, transparency, and accountability in contract administration.Support the Contracts Manager with any other daily commercial/contractual activities as needed.Required Skills and CompetenciesThis role requires a strong sense of accountability, exceptional attention to detail, and a demonstrated commitment to advancing in commercial/contract departments within the construction industry.Bachelor’s degree in engineering, law, or a related field.3 to 7 years of experience in a commercial or administrative role within the construction industry, with demonstrated progression in responsibilities.Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio) and familiarity with project management or contract management software is an asset.Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to draft, review, and oversee formal project correspondence effectively.Proven ability to lead and collaborate in diverse, cross-functional teams within a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment.Skilled in prioritizing tasks, managing multiple assignments, and maintaining attention to detail under pressure.Demonstrated ability to identify complex issues, perform detailed analysis, and recommend and implement effective solutions.Proactive, self-managing, solution-oriented, highly organized, and adaptable to evolving project needs.Strong knowledge of contract management principles, financial considerations, and risk assessment methodologies.This role offers an annual base salary in the anticipated range of $90,000–$120,000 CAD, with compensation determined based on experience, qualifications, and internal equity.In addition to base salary, this role includes a total rewards package that supports employee well-being, development, and long-term growth, subject to company policies and applicable provincial employment standards, including:Paid vacation and sick leaveGroup benefits and EFAP from your start date, with premiums paid by ACCIONAHealth Spending AccountLearning, development, and internal career opportunitiesRRSP matchingPerformance-based discretionary bonusShare purchase programACCIONA has been given the Top Employer 2022, 2023, 2024 & 2025 certification in Canada, as well as the Top Employers North America 2022, 2023, 2024 & 2025 seal, which certifies the company's commitment to excellence in human resources management and those who focus on putting their people first through their exceptional HR policies.
