This position, reporting to the Director of Financial Administration and working in close collaboration with the finance officers of the College of Sciences schools, will be responsible for Division‑wide cost share compliance, special commitment tracking and analysis, State budget amendments, annual Division‑wide budget support, capital projects support, development and gift accounting, and ad‑hoc financial and budgetary analysis. Job Summary The Assistant Director of Finance Operations manages the school‑level accounting and financial operations. This role manages budgeting, financial analysis, maintains financial records, and prepares financial reports and statements. Responsibilities Oversee the preparation of the school's budget, ensuring it is consistent with the Institute's policy. Ensure sound fiscal management and compliance, including staying up to date on and interpreting state statutes, state and Institute financial and administrative policies/procedures. Responsible for implementing the annual budget process through budget formulation, preparation, and maintenance. Monitor financial transactions such as requisitions, internal and external purchase orders, travel authorizations, expense reports, and construction‑and‑facilities‑related orders. Direct the preparation of financial reports and statements on a regular and ad‑hoc basis as needed. Responsible for managing, updating, and documenting financial and administrative processes and procedures to accomplish operational functions. Review expenditures to conform to budgetary provisions. Research higher education trends/challenges and provide statistical analyses. Provide leadership and direction of policy development by reviewing, analyzing, developing, interpreting, and implementing best practices for sound and effective management. Perform other job‑related duties as assigned. Qualifications Required Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience. Advanced certification may be preferred or required. Six or more years of relevant experience, including three or more years of supervisory experience. Preferred Qualifications Master's Degree in a related discipline or equivalent. Certifications or licenses preferred for this job: CPA. Compensation Salary: $85,000‑$100,000/yr.
