Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking Principal Financial Analyst (Level 3) or Senior Principal Financial Analyst (Level 4) to join us in the pursuit of top-tier financial performance. The position can be based out of Rancho Bernardo, CA, El Segundo, CA or Palmdale, CA, and will report to the Business Unit Finance Manager of financial planning & analysis. The role can also support a hybrid schedule.

Essential functions include:

• Supports monthly/quarterly financial reporting and planning processes, including financial and cost forecasting, reporting and analysis, and profitability analysis.
• Supports development of consolidated program long range strategic plans (LRSP) and annual operating plans.
• Works with the business management teams to develop strategies to improve financial performance based on metrics and to support the management & reporting requirements for the program.
• Support the management of program financials, including financial and cost forecasting, reporting and analysis, profitability analysis, and working capital analysis (accounts receivable forecasting, unbilled analysis, and aged receivables analysis).
• Supports review, analysis, and management of invoicing and collections.
• Support Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance and documentation.
• Coordinate with the functional business management teams to develop strategies to improve financial performance based on metrics.
• Support the development of presentations for, and occasionally brief to, Program, Division, Sector, and Corporate leadership.
• Supports initiatives and ad hoc requests from Program, Division, Sector, and Corporate leadership.
• Interface with business, program, and corporate personnel.
• Create and modify complex financial briefing templates for Division/Program use
• Provide systems support for our Financial Planning tool

This is a fast-paced, high energy environment that requires a self-motivated employee to join the team. The ideal candidate will possess the following traits and abilities: ability to use financial systems, with understanding of DoD financial rhythms; develop and implement solutions of moderate scope and complexity; analyze variances/trends and develop new methods and process techniques; work under very general supervision while completing numerous assignments per schedule and elevating potential issues to ensure proper management focus; exert influence on peers and internal customers; good interpersonal skills while representing the finance team on various projects.

This position can be hired at either a Principal (Level 3) or Senior Principal (Level 4) level based on candidate experience, qualifications, skills and knowledge.

Basic qualifications for Principal Financial Analyst (Level 3):

• Bachelor's degree with 5 years of Finance, Accounting, and/or Business-related experience, or a Master's degree with 3 years of stated experience
• Requires intermediate to advanced understanding of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
• Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance.

Basic qualifications for Senior Principal Financial Analyst (Level 4):

• Bachelor's degree with 8 years of Finance, Accounting, and/or Business-related experience, or a Master's degree with 6 years of stated experience
• Requires intermediate to advanced understanding of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
• Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance.

Preferred qualifications:

• Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business-related discipline
• Experience with Financial and Business systems (COGNOS, SAP)
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
• Expertise in financial analysis and financial forecasting in the Aerospace and Defense industry
• Candidate has the ability to identify issues and problems and make recommendations to management for resolution or mitigation
• Be able to obtain and maintain Secret DoD Clearance
• Knowledge of EVMS/FAR/DFARS

Primary level salary range: $94,200.00 - $141,200.00. Secondary level salary range: $117,500.00 - $176,300.00. The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
