Senior Systems Engineer

Salary: $75,000 - 115,000 per year Requirements:

• 3 to 10 years of network administration experience in a Windows environment; Linux experience is a plus
• Strong hands-on administration of Microsoft 365 and Entra ID, with solid foundational knowledge of IP networking
• Good understanding of cybersecurity principles
• Ability to complete work thoroughly, close tickets, record time accurately, and maintain clear documentation
• Calm, methodical communication style under pressure, especially when systems fail or clients are frustrated
• Self-directed mindset suited to a small team where ownership of outcomes is expected
• Current valid drivers license with a clean driving record
• 3 years of computer networking experience
• Nice to have: industry certifications, a degree in Computer Science or a related field, PowerShell, Fortinet/FortiGate, Ruckus, and CIS Controls

• Own centralized services that support all clients, including RMM policies, patch compliance, and backup health verification across on-premises and cloud environments
• Monitor systems and tune alerts so issues are proactively managed and unnecessary noise is reduced
• Administer Microsoft 365 and Entra ID
• Manage the security stack, including EDR/MDR, multifactor authentication, and conditional access
• Lead professional services projects from start to finish, including server refreshes, migrations, and cloud transitions
• Design, secure, and operate networks with routers, switches, and firewalls
• Deliver projects on schedule and within scope while maintaining detailed, accurate system documentation
• Use automation, AI-assisted tooling, dashboards, and PowerShell to eliminate repetitive work and prevent recurring problems
• Verify backup health across clients and provide evidence rather than assumptions
