The Utility Worker plays a key role in maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient kitchen environment by ensuring all work areas, equipment, and utensils are properly cleaned, organized, and ready for use.

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of all kitchen work areas, including prep stations, storage spaces, and dishwashing areas.
• Clean, sanitize, and store kitchen equipment and utensils in accordance with established procedures and hygiene standards.
• Regularly inspect work areas, equipment, and utensils to identify and address any cleanliness or maintenance issues.
• Support overall kitchen operations by promptly clearing and cleaning surfaces to ensure a smooth workflow for the culinary team.
• Follow all safety and sanitation guidelines to promote a safe working environment and prevent cross-contamination.
• Handle cleaning supplies and equipment correctly and report any damaged or malfunctioning items to leadership.
• Assist with general maintenance tasks related to keeping the kitchen environment tidy and orderly.

• Proven experience keeping work areas clean and organized, preferably in a kitchen or food service environment.
• Strong attention to detail to ensure all equipment and utensils are thoroughly cleaned and properly stored.
• Ability to follow cleaning procedures and sanitation standards consistently.
• Reliability and strong work ethic, with the ability to complete tasks efficiently and on time.
• Ability to work safely with cleaning products, tools, and equipment.

• Experience in basic maintenance tasks within a kitchen or similar environment.
• Familiarity with commercial kitchen equipment cleaning and care.
• Ability to work collaboratively with kitchen and culinary staff.
• Willingness to adapt to changing kitchen layouts and processes during renovation periods.

This role is based in a makeshift but air-conditioned and comfortable kitchen space while the permanent kitchen undergoes a major renovation. You work in a setting focused on maintaining high cleanliness and safety standards, with access to standard kitchen equipment, utensils, and cleaning supplies. The environment is designed to support efficient kitchen operations during the remodel and will transition into a newly renovated, modern kitchen facility upon completion.

This is a Contract position based out of Baltimore, MD.

The pay range for this position is $20.38 - $20.38/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
