Position: Epic Database Administrator
\nLocation: Fully Remote (up to 10% travel)
\nDuration: 12-Month Contract
\n \nJob Summary
\nSeeking an experienced Epic Database Administrator to manage, optimize, and support enterprise healthcare database environments across on-premises, virtual, and cloud platforms. The role focuses on high availability, performance, security, disaster recovery, and technical leadership.
\n \nKey Responsibilities
\n- \n
- Design, install, configure, maintain, patch, and upgrade Epic database environments and related Windows applications. \n
- Lead and coordinate the Epic ECSA/ODBA team, including project planning, mentoring, and on-call support. \n
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize database performance, capacity, storage, and resource utilization. \n
- Develop and maintain backup, recovery, restoration, and high-availability solutions. \n
- Manage database security, user access, permissions, auditing, and compliance. \n
- Support database migrations, upgrades, daily build deployments, and environment synchronization. \n
- Perform data extraction, loading, conversion, and integration activities. \n
- Collaborate with Linux, Windows, Oracle, networking, SAN, storage, and application teams. \n
- Administer SQL Server environments, including performance tuning, indexing, patching, and disaster recovery. \n
- Maintain technical documentation, scripts, operational procedures, and version control. \n
- Provide production support, participate in critical incident management, and coordinate 24/7 on-call rotations. \n
Minimum Qualifications
\n- \n
- Bachelor’s degree. \n
- Eight years of relevant experience, including Epic ODBA/ECSA. \n
- Epic ODBA, ECSA, Data Courier, or Chronicles certification. \n
Preferred Qualifications & Skills
\n- \n
- Epic Clarity certification and experience with Red Hat Linux, cloud services, storage, security, and networking. \n
- Strong knowledge of Epic Chronicles/Cache databases, SQL Server, Windows, Linux, database performance tuning, and high availability. \n
- Excellent troubleshooting, communication, project management, team leadership, and mentoring skills. \n
